Fort Bravo
The Good The Bad and The Ugly, A Fistful of Dollars… all were filmed here in the badlands of Almeria, Spain. The barren Tabernas desert was the perfect stand in for the plains of America and so Clint Eastwood shot many of his classic Westerns here. Any Cohen Brothers and Deadwood fans will love it here. It really feels like the shell of a gold rush town, complete with a saloon, cowboys and can-can dancers. There’s even a Mexican pueblo settlement made from mud and clay. It’s a fun afternoon with cheesy entertainment (that’s more day time TV than the big screen). But with cowboys roaming around on horses and desert surrounding you as far as they eye can see, Fort Bravo transports you into a different world.
